Tip 194. Kidn e y Bea n s for Kidney Problems

 

Kidney beans, also known as French beans or c o mmon bea n s, are rega r ded as a very

effective remedy for kidney problems, inclu d i ng kidney sto n es. It was Dr. Ramm of Germa n y, who first discovered the value of ki d ney beans as a medici n e for kidney and bladder troubles. He employ e d it for over 25 years with benefici a l results. The method prescribed by him to

prepare the medicine is t o remove t h e beans inside the pods, then slice t he pods and put about

60 mg. in four litres of h ot water, boiling slowly f or four hours. This liquid should be strained through fine muslin and t hen allowed to cool for a bout eight h ours. Ther e after, the fluid should

be poured through another piece of muslin without stirring.

 

According to Dr. Ramm, a glassf u l of this dec o c tion should b e given to the patient every two hours thro u gh the day for one day, and thereaf t er it may be taken several times a week. Dr. Ramm also says that th i s decoc t ion will not work if it is more than 24 ho u rs old. The p ods can

be kept for longer peri o ds but once they are boiled, the the r apeutic fac t or disappea r s after one day. The basil, known a s tulsi in the vernacular, has a stren g thening eff e ct on the ki d neys. In case of kid n ey stones, basil j u ice a n d honey should betaken for six months. It has b e en found that the sto n es can be ex pelled from the urinary tract with this treatment. The celery is also a valuable food for those who are prone to stone f ormation in the kidneys or the gall bladder. Its regular use prevents future stone f o rmation.
