It contai n s an ins u lin-li k e principle, known as plant-insulin w hich has been found effective in lowering the blood and u r ine sugar l e vels. It should, therefore, be

included lib e rally in the d iet of the di a betic.

 

For better results, the di abetic sho u ld take the j u ice

of about 4 o r 5 fruits every morning o n an empty stomach. The seeds of b itter gourd can be added to fo o d in a powdered form. Diabetics can also use b it t er gourd in t he form of decoction

by boiling t h e pieces in water or in the form of dry powder.

 

 

 

Tip 167. Black Raisins for Sexual Vigour

 

Black raisi n s are also u seful for res t oration of s e xual vigor. They should be boiled wi t h milk after washi n g them thoroughly in tepid water. This will make them swollen and sweet.


Eating of s u ch raisi n s s h ould be foll o wed by the use of milk. Starting with 30 grams of raising with 200 ml. of milk, thr e e times daily, the quanti t y of raising should be g r adually inc r eased to

50 grams each time.

re-establish the benign o r friendly flora. The acid in the butte rm ilk also fi g hts germs and

bacteria. It may be tak e n and mixed with a pinch of salt three or four times a day for controlling diarrhoea.

 

Should buttermilk be unavailable, e at yoghurt. This fermented food provides usef u l bacteria that displ a ce the micro-organisms that cause digestive infections. Eating yoghurt just three times a week in any amount maintains the nee d ed bacteria f or intestin a l health.

 

 

 

Tip 169. Carrot Soup for Diarrho e a

 

Carrot soup is another e f fective home remedy f o r diarrhoea. It suppli e s water to combat dehydration, replenishes sodium, potassium, ph o sphorus, c a lcium, sulp h ur and magnesium, supplies p ectin and coa t s the intes t ine to allay inflammatio n . It checks t he growth of harmful intestinal b a cteria and p r events vom i ting.

 

One pound of carrot may be cooked in five ounces of water until it is sof t . The pulp should be strained and boiled wat e r added to make a quart.

 

Three-quarter tablespo o n of salt may be m i xed. This soup should be given in small amounts to the patient ev ery half an hour.

 

 

Tip 170. Carrots and La d y ' s Fingers for Male Sexual Stamina
