Tip 125. Contraindications for Colour Therapy

 

There are some import a nt contraindications to colour treatment which s h ould be bor n e in mind while adopting this mode of cure. F or instance, the red col o ur would be injurious in a naturally inflammatory condition of the syst em , and in case of perso n s with feverish and exci t able temperam e nt. If the red light is employed for too long and fr e quently, it may produce

dangerous f evers. The danger can b e obviated by using the red light for a few minutes at a time or by placing a wet bandage over the head.

 

Similarly, y e llow should not be used when the nerves are very active or irritable. Yell o w or orange reddish tones m ay prove injurious in fe v ers, acute i n flammations, delirium, diarrhoea, neuralgia, p alpitation of the heart a n d any condition of over- excitement. In cases of paralysis, chronic rhe u matism, gout, consumption and in all cold, pale a nd dormant conditions o f the system, blue, indigo a n d violet may prove too c ooling and constricting a nd should b e avoided.


 

Tip 126. Colour Therap y : Simple Methods # 1

 

See the world through rose coloured glasses. T h ere are two methods of treating dis e ases by colour: by the applicati o n of light th r ough differ e nt coloured glasses, a n d By exter n al or internal use of colo u r-charged water.

 

In the first method, shee t s of glass, 3 0 cm x 36 cm of the required colou r s are need e d. These are placed a t the window frames or any other convenient place in such a way that the sun's

rays can pass through t hem and fall directly on t he patient's body. The usual durati o n of the colour trea t ment is 30 minutes. In case of l o cal applicati o n, a pane of glass can be placed in front of the diseased p a rt so that the light passi n g through t h e glass f a lls on the afflic t ed area.

At night lan t erns can be used for the purpose. A single lan t ern can have glass pan e s of four different colours and the required colour can be f ocussed on the patient o r the affect e d

parts.

 

You can also add colour your health with colour - c harged water. For this t echnique, coloured bottles are n eeded. These bottles s h ould be cle a ned and fill e d up to thr e e-fourths level with fresh well water, distill e d water or rain water. The bottles should be co r k ed and th e n placed in

bright sunli g ht for three t o four hours. After this ex posure, the water is said to acquire medicinal properties a nd this c o l o ur-charged water can be used both internally and for external

applicatio n s. Wounds a n d ulcers can be washed with this wa t er and it can also be us e d to massage the affected p arts or applied as compress on them. For intern a l use, an a d ult can
